Praying with Power

God, I resist the temptation of making my prayer a routine item on a checklist. Awaken me to the truth that our prayers truly change the future. Help me pray passionately and earnestly as I invite you into every situation in my life. With Grace, I want to accept Your sovereignty and Your will. I will truly trust that You have good plans for me. Help me to cultivate the gift of praying in the Spirit as I intercede for others.  I am only flesh and bone and do not fully know what I should pray, so I ask that You allow Your Spirit to flow through me, as Paul said, “making intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered,” (Romans 8:26-27) for I know that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.
